U.S. Lacrosse is pleased to announce that more than 450 girls’ high school lacrosse players have been named as All-Americans for the 2008 season.

The players received either first team or honorable mention status. The process is coordinated by the high school committee of the US Lacrosse Women’s Division Coaches Council. Area chairpersons for the 80 geographic areas designated by the US Lacrosse high school committee coordinated the voting. Each area is awarded a set number of slots for the team based on the number of high school lacrosse teams in their respective areas.

St. Margaret’s Lauren Ciccomascolo said goodbye to the Orange County lacrosse community in fine fashion, scoring six goals and adding an assist in the girls Southern Section title.

It was a great send-off as she prepares to head to the University of Denver, where she will play next season.

“I wanted to come out and make it a game to remember,” Ciccomascolo said at the time. “Going to Denver next year, I wanted to remember this and take it with me.”

It also was a season that she will never forget.

Ciccomascolo scored 125 points (85 goals and 40 assists). She had 81 ground balls and 203 draw controls.

As a junior, she scored 68 goals.

“She proved to everyone that she deserved to be going to college to play,” St. Margaret’s coach Summer Crabtree said.

“She had an incredible year, and she was a force to be reckoned with.”
