Greg Guy Leaves El Toro For Northwood

El Toro head coach Greg Guy has stepped down to take over as the new head coach at Northwood High School.

Guy, who teaches at Northwood, has been one of the most successful coaches in Orange County over the last few years.

In 2008, Guy led El Toro to a 12-6 record and a quarterfinal appearance in the CIF-Southern Section Orange County playoffs. In 2007, Guy led El Toro to a 15-2 record and a one-goal loss in the Orange County championship game.

In its first year of varsity lacrosse, Northwood finished with a 7-7 record and closed the season with wins over Irvine and Woodbridge to take the inaugural city title.

“I am hoping that lacrosse will be a flagship program for Northwood,” Guy said in a news release. “My goal is for us to get to championship games and win…for people to think of lacrosse when they hear about Northwood. I am really excited to build a strong program here.” (From West Side Lax)
