Scouting the Blue Devils

While Duke has not played any regular-season college opponents in 2009, the Blue Devils are coming off a 15-11 victory in a scrimmage with the England national team on Feb. 6 in Durham, N.C. Senior midfielder/attacker Carolyn Davis, a 2008 IWLCA/U.S. Lacrosse first-team All-American, led the way with four goals and senior attacker Megan Del Monte, a 2008 third-team All-American, scored three against England. Senior attacker/midfielder Caroline Cryer and sophomore midfielder Sarah Bullard, members of the United States’ 2009 World Cup roster, tallied two goals each against England.

Last season, Davis led Duke in points (76) and goals (61), Del Monte ranked second in points (66) and goals (41) and led the Blue Devils in assists (25) in 2008, and current senior goalkeeper Kim Imbesi posted a 10.08 goals-against average.

Kerstin Kimel, a former U.S. player, is in her 14th year as head coach of Duke.
