LagunaHills Lacrosse logoLaguna Hills High School in Laguna Hills, CA (South Orange County) is seeking a Head Coach for their Boys’ Lacrosse team for the 2009/2010 Spring season which begins in January and runs through May.

  • LHHS competes in Pacific Coast League against teams such as Corona Del Mar, Beckman, Irvine, University and San Juan Hills

  • This is a walk-on coaching position.
  • You do not need to be a teacher, but need to be interviewed through and hired by the district and be fingerprinted, background checked etc.
  • Lacrosse has been a CIF sanctioned sport at LHHS for 3 seasons now.
  • LHHS Typically plays a 19 to 20 game schedule at both the V and JV levels. Practices are held typically from 6pm to 8pm based on Field Availability.
  • LHHS LAX graduates have gone on to play at the college level.
  • There is Strong Booster Club and Parent Support.
  • The circa 40 player squad is young and talented.  LHHS enjoys increasing numbers of incoming freshmen LAX registrants year over year.
  • Great school and great opportunity to build your own program and continue play through summer and winter leagues.
  • Experience with coaching high school and strong college resume preferred.

  1. Lacrosse will most likely be cut due to the district budget crisis. Lacrosse has one of the highest costs to the district per participant, which makes it difficult to keep it while making cuts throughout the rest of the athletic departments.

    With the school’s declining enrollment, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the school to field 8 varsity sports in the spring (volleyball, track, baseball, golf, tennis, swimming, roller hockey and lacrosse). As the two most recently added, and with no actual CIF participation, both roller hockey and lacrosse are on the chopping block.

      It sounds like you ate a bunch of sour grapes to me. You aren’t somehow involved in the football program are you?

      Lacrosse is a fantastic sport and one of the fastest growing amongst the 8 – 18 year old athletes. It would be a horrible shame for the school to cut something which offers so much more for the players and students than any other sport available at a High School level. I would not surprised if parent support and local community action found a way to provide financial support for a much needed asset to any sports program..
