Perhaps the best way to compensate for being beat down the field is the wrap check. If done properly it will allow you to either force a player to lose possession of the ball or at least slow them up some so that you can catch up.

San Diego High School Boys Lacrosse Profile: Coronado Boys Lacrosse Senior Middie Kodie Englehart Will Attend Vermont After 2010 Season

Kodie Englehart is a 6’1”, 158-pound midfielder that played lacrosse at Coronado High School in Coronado, Calif. He was a 2009 High School All-American. He also was named to the San Diego Section CIF First Team, the All-City League Team and was named to the San Diego Union Tribune All-Academic Team. In 2006 he was named the San Diego Middle School Defenseman of the Year.

The University of Vermont men’s lacrosse program will add nine newcomers for the 2011 season. Head coach Ryan Curtis made the announcement today.

Derek Braig (Reisterstown, Md.), Mark D’Anthony (Hampstead, Md.), Kodie Englehart (Coronado, Calif.), Charles Graff (Middlebury, Ind.), Connor McNamara (Winchester, Mass.), Michael Quinn (Las Vegas, Nev.), Peter Santulli (Hinsdale, Ill.), Brian Slevin (Setauket, N.Y.) and Ahmad Zachary (Lower Merion, Pa.) will all join the class of 2014.

“We are very excited to announce our fourth recruiting class; the class of 2014,” Curtis said. “This is an impressive group of young men who have had great success on and off the field. Each member of this class will have the potential to make an immediate impact on this program and add quality depth to our team.”
