attend Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., on an athletic scholarship.

Hofstra dropped its football program in December.

“Lacrosse is the main sport now,” Bogert said.

Bogert gives no small amount of thought to his future these days, which is quite a bit different from where he was as a freshman.

Bogert’s physical skills are apparent to anybody who watches him play. He has quick feet, a finely tuned sense of balance and a burst of speed that can make opponents look like they’re wearing work boots as he glides past them in the open field.

Growth Of Western Lacrosse: 2014 Federation Of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships To Be Held In Denver


 “The Colorado lacrosse community is very supportive of the great college lacrosse teams here, the two professional teams, and its growing youth organizations,” said Govett. “I expect that we will fill the building and set records in terms of attendance in 2014.”

The Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) has announced that Denver, Colorado will be the host city of the 2014 FIL Men’s World Championship. US Lacrosse will host the quadrennial event with local support from the Denver Sports Commission and Denver lacrosse community. The championship games will be held at Dicks Sporting Goods Park from July 10 to 19, 2014. As many as 38 countries are expected to compete.

Nearly 1,000 athletes will compete in the 2014 championship games with over 100,000 spectators expected to attend.
