Major League Lacrosse: MLL Championship Weekend Broadcast On ESPN2 August 27-28

The Major League Lacrosse (MLL) season culminates with the Sports Authority MLL Championship Weekend presented by Warrior Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27-28, on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis.
Top-seeded Boston will face the defending champs (No. 4) Chesapeake on Saturday, at noon, while No. 3 Hamilton will battle No. 2 Denver at 3 p.m.  The winners of each semifinal will compete for the title on Sunday, at 3 p.m.

NCAA Lacrosse: USC Women’s Lacrosse Announces Arrival Of First Recruiting Class From States Including California (4), New Jersey, North Carolina And Washington

 Seven top high school women’s lacrosse players enrolled in classes at USC on Monday (Aug. 22) to form the program’s first freshman class since the sport was added as the school’s 21st NCAA sport last year, Trojan head coach Lindsey Munday announced today (Aug. 23).

Munday noted that several walk-on additions could be announced soon.

This fall’s incoming freshmen are:

 MF Emily Boone of St. Margaret’s Episcopal School in Costa Mesa, Calif.

C Justina Burns of St. Francis High School in Granite Bay, Calif.

C/MF Kaitlyn Couture of Coronado (Calif.) High School

MF Alex Foreman of Eastside Catholic School in Sammamish, Wash

MF Olivia Gerton of Granada High School in Livermore, Calif.

MF Abigail Harris of Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C.

C Kaila Sommi of Montgomery High School in Belle Mead, N.J.

“I am extremely excited to announce the first class of the USC women’s lacrosse program,” said Munday. “These players are the foundation of this program and will help lead us into the future.

“All seven of these young women have proven to be strong leaders, which is imperative as we build our program. These student-athletes are extremely excited to be part of a new program and have expressed their willingness to work hard to create the tradition of USC lacrosse.
