MCLA Lacrosse: Cal State Fullerton Men’s Lacrosse Head Coach Kyle Morrison Resigns; Titans Accepting Applications From Prospective Coaches

California State University-Fullerton Men’s Lacrosse is regretfully announcing the resignation of Head Coach Kyle Morrison and Assistant Coach Mike Ansel. Both coaches have been crucial to the recent success on and off the field along with growth of the CSUF Men’s Lacrosse program at the CSU Fullerton.

Morrison joined CSUF Lacrosse in 2010 as an assistant coach, but took over the Head Coach responsibilities shortly thereafter. In addition to handling a majority of the organizational and administrative aspects of running a MCLA team, Morrison brought defensive minded leadership to the Titans. While Morrison was on staff, the Titans have gone 41-17 since 2010, winning the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference Championship twice and making appearances at the National Tournament in 2010 and 2011.

In a statement by Coach Morrison, “My resignation has nothing to do with any specific individuals or events on the team as I think it’s solely time for me to pursue other Lacrosse related interests.”

The second coaching change comes with the resignation of Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator Mike Ansel. Mike played for three years at the CSU Fullerton and was a member of the CSUF Lacrosse team for the 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons, serving as team captain his junior and Senior seasons. He was a recent graduate of CSU Fullerton and joined the coaching staff at the end of his playing career in 2012.

California State University – Fullerton will immediately begin taking applications for prospective Head Coaches, please send resumes to:
