The University of Denver women’s lacrosse program will play No. 4/4 Florida in the NCAA Tournament Second Round in Gainesville, Fla., on Sunday at 11 a.m. MT.
The No. 13/18 Pioneers have won a program-record 18 games this season, including a 15-game winning streak that was snapped by a loss to Stanford in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament championship game. Denver swept the MPSF regular season for the fourth time in head coach Liza Kelly’s seven-year tenure.
The Gators earned the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament after going 17-2 overall and 4-1 in the American Lacrosse Conference. UF fell 8-3 to Northwestern in the ALC Championship. The high-powered Gators claim four Tewaarton Award nominees and six IWLCA All-Region selections.

Florida (15.00) and Denver (14.37) are ranked sixth and seventh in the NCAA in scoring offense. UF is also second in scoring defense (6.58), while DU (8.68) is 17th.
Florida won the only previous meeting between the teams, beating the Pioneers 15-7 in Gainesville on Feb. 20, 2011.
