NCAA Lacrosse: Denver Men’s Lacrosse Graduate Eric Law Awarded NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship


Recently graduated University of Denver men’s lacrosse student-athlete  Eric Law (Denver, Colo.) was award one of the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Postgraduate Scholarship. Law graduated this spring with a degree in management and a 3.77 cumulative GPA.    “I am so thrilled and honored to be given this award to continue my education,” Law said. “It would not have been able to happen without all the help from the great people here at the University of Denver. A special thanks to Nancy Sampson, coach Tierney, Barbara Stuart and everyone else who made this opportunity possible. This award should be shared by many people at the University due to their efforts to make it happen. They have, and continue to do, so much for me and I am forever grateful for their efforts and forever proud to be a Denver Pioneers.”   Law was awarded a $7,500 scholarship to pursue part-time or full-time postgraduate study at a university or professional school and has until August 31, 2016 to use his award.    “Eric is a great model of a true student-athlete and we are so proud of him and what he has accomplished while at the University of Denver,” said Peg Bradley-Doppes, Vice Chancellor for Athletics, Recreation and Ritchie Center Operations. “Eric has not only proven himself on the field, but has also led by example in the classroom. We look forward to seeing all the great things that Eric will achieve.”   Law closed out his collegiate career having tallied 152 points off 86 goals and 66 assists through 53 games played. He finished third in points and assists, and sixth in goals in the Pioneers’ all-time record book. The Denver-native was also named a 2013 USILA Scholar All-American and a USILA Honorable Mention All-American.     “What a perfect way for a special young man to put an exclamation point on his amazing career,” said Bill Tierney, Denver men’s lacrosse head coach. “Eric has made us proud since the day he walked in the door at DU and has become the model of what we search for in recruiting future Pioneers.”

Lacrosse Tournaments: Video Highlights Of “2013 Vail Lacrosse Shootout” Men’s Elite Semifinal Between “All Out” And “Brine Elite” On July 6


At the 2013 Vail Lacrosse Shootout, the Brine Elite squad and All Out team squared off in the first semi-final in the Men’s Elite Division. All Out dominated the first half, but Brine went on a fourth quarter run with two big two pointers. The goals, however, just weren’t enough to steal the win.
