The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) is proud to announce the location of the 2014 & 2015 National Tournament as Orange County, CA.  The opening two rounds of the tournament will be held on the University of California Irvine campus recreation fields. The tournament will then move to the Chapman University campus in Orange, for the semi-final and final round games.

Chapman College Athletic FieldToday’s announcement of National Tournament venue was preceded by evaluation of three proposals to the MCLA Board of Directors, including Greenville and Phoenix. President Ken Lovic notes, “[The MCLA] wants to thank Greenville for being great hosts for our national tournament the past two seasons. It is a dynamic city and the whole city were gracious host. I also want to thank the tournament committee that vetted the three bids and looked closely at all of the proposals. Phoenix and Greenville were great opportunities for us and we appreciate their interest and support of the MCLA.”

In summation, Lovic remarked, “In the end the Board of Directors felt the Irvine invitation was the one they wanted to go with. It will be our first move to the west coast and I know our staff and local organizing committee will make it a great event for our member teams.”

The 32 team tournament is making its first appearance in the state of California. The Southwest Lacrosse Conference (SLC), lead by President Matt Holman, will host and is very excited to welcome the MCLA to the West Coast. Holman stated, “the SLC welcomes the event and looking forward to showcase the strong southern California lacrosse community. We really think the on-campus experience will help to make this a player centric event. Coupled with the new MCLA Event management team this is sure to be a success.”
