NCAA Lacrosse: Marquette Women’s Lacrosse Announces 2013 Fall Ball Schedule Featuring Northwestern, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Grand Valley State And Ohio State From Sept 29-Oct 20

The Marquette University women’s lacrosse team begins its fall season with a home tournament at Valley Fields on Sept. 29 and will travel to Midwestern powers Northwestern and Notre Dame in addition to Ohio State and Michigan.
The fall home tournament on Sunday, Sept. 29 will include Cincinnati and Grand Valley State at the Valley with competition beginning at 8 a.m. The Golden Eagles lost to the Bearcats during the 2013 regular season and will host the Lakers for the second-straight fall in Milwaukee.
“Our home tournament on Sept. 29 should be a great day of lacrosse with some really strong teams,” Black said. “We are excited about the opportunity to play in front of our home fans as we prepare for our spring season.”
On Oct. 6, the squad travels to Columbus, Ohio for an all-day tournament at Ohio State.
The Golden Eagles return to the western shores of Lake Michigan on Oct. 8 in Evanston, Ill., against Northwestern and will play at Notre Dame on Oct. 17. Both the Wildcats and Fighting Irish finished in the top 12 of the final 2013 IWLCA coaches’ poll.
MU caps off the fall season on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the University of Michigan.

NCAA Lacrosse: The Second Annual “Seatown Classic” Features USC Women’s Lacrosse And Oregon On October 13 In Seattle, WA

NCAA Division I college lacrosse returns to Seattle this fall as the University of Southern California and the University of Oregon women’s varsity lacrosse teams go head-to-head in the second Seatown Classic, Sunday, Oct. 13.

USC TrojansThe NCAA Women’s Division I lacrosse matchup, presented by the Washington State Chapter of US Lacrosse, takes place at Issaquah High School Stadium and is part of the Washington State Lacrosse Hall of Fame weekend that includes the Washington State Lacrosse Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 12.

In the 2013 NCAA Seatown Classic, two former Washington state high school lacrosse players are expected to take part; USC’s Alex Foreman, a former All-American and All-State player at the Eastside Catholic School and Jacky Hennegan, a former All-State player at Central Kitsap High School.

Combined, USC and Oregon have a total of five Northwest players on their rosters including USC’s Foreman (Sammamish, Wash. / Eastside Catholic School), Hennegan (Bremerton, Wash. / Central Kitsap HS) and Ceara Leo (Portland, Ore. / Woodrow Wilson HS) and Oregon’s Courtney Valdez (Clackamas, Ore. / Foothill HS), Lindsay LeMay (Corvalis, Ore. / Corvallis HS).

I lacrosse back to the State of Washington for a second consecutive year,” said Dave Low, president of the Washington State Chapter of US Lacrosse.  “With the demand among youth and high school girls in Washington state to play lacrosse it’s important that we continue to bring the highest level of the game to the state,” Low said.  “We want our kids to experience first-hand the best collegiate lacrosse players in America.”

USC and Oregon are among five Pac-12 schools that offer women’s lacrosse.  The others are California, Stanford and Colorado.  A total of 407 NCAA schools offer women’s lacrosse at the Division I, II and III levels, while another 319 NCAA schools offer men’s lacrosse.
