The new Colorado Box Lacrosse League will begin operations this winter with youth and high school divisions accommodating recreational, elite, and high school teams in indoor rinks across metro Denver. The Jr. Mammoth and 3d Lacrosse have consolidated their own individual leagues from past years to form the new league to build a bigger, brighter future for all players involved. “In just a few short years, 3d Lacrosse has altered the pre-collegiate lacrosse landscape on a national level,” said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. “The Mammoth and 3d Lacrosse will be exponentially more impactful to the development of lacrosse players by working together.”
“After working independently for a number of years, it was not too hard to figure out that a joint approach would better serve the community and players in the long-term,” said 3d Lacrosse Chief Operating Officer Greg Waldbaum. “The combined resources of the two entities make for a powerful combination of training, contacts, players, facilities, and operations that is undeniable, and bringing it together makes all the sense in the world. We are pleased and honored to be working with Steve and the Mammoth organization and look forward to a long and mutually-beneficial future.”
The new League and entity intends to operate year-round with league play, clinics, tournaments, and training all revolving around the game of box lacrosse. 3d Lacrosse has built a local and national powerhouse based on its own box / field hybrid methodology and the Colorado Mammoth has been one of the most successful NLL franchises in the history of the game. Together, the two entities bring an enormous amount of experience and expertise around the game of box lacrosse.
