The Hofstra Men’s Lacrosse team will compete in three scrimmages this fall, Pride Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Seth Tierney announced recently.
Hofstra will play two scrimmages at the HEADstrong Foundation’s seventh annual Nicholas Colleluori Fall Men’s Classic on October 5 in Folsom, PA, and will host a touring team from Tokyo, Japan’s Keio University on Friday, October 11 at James M. Shuart Stadium.
The Pride will make their seventh appearance in the Nicholas Colleluori Classic next month. The two-day event will take place at Ridley High School in Folsom, PA on Saturday, October 5 with Division I scrimmages, and on Sunday, October 6, 2013 for Division II and III scrimmages. In addition to Hofstra, the Division I line-up includes Binghamton, Lafayette, Monmouth, Saint Joseph’s, VMI and Villanova. Each team will play two games. The Pride will face Binghamton at 2:30 p.m. and Villanova at 6 p.m. on October 5. Selected games will be streamed live with commentary, compliments of Access Lacrosse.
The Nicholas Colleluori Classic has become a fall tradition in the sport of lacrosse. The NCC is dedicated to remembering the life and legacy of former Hofstra lacrosse player and HEADstrong founder Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori while promoting the importance of community, brotherhood and sportsmanship within the game. This milestone event has helped raise over $1,100,000 allowing the HEADstrong Foundation to strengthen their commitment to improving the quality of life for those affected by cancer.
