1. Torrey Pines (Calif.) 3-0 The Falcons already picked up three huge wins this season to take over the No. 1 spot. One week after knocking off Cathedral Catholic (Calif.) in overtime, Torrey Pines beat former No. 1 St. Ignatius (Calif.), The Falcons followed that up with another impressive, 10-6 victory over De LaSalle (Calif.).

2. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.), 3-1 The Wildcats fell to former No. 2 Torrey Pines in one of the early marquee matchups of the regular season. St. Ignatius rebounded with a 19-8 win over Coronado (Calif.).

3. Arapahoe (Colo.), 4-0 The Warriors took down Southlake (Texas) 9-6 and Littleton (Colo.) 17-2 this week.

4. La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 1-0 The Mavericks cruised to a 13-6 victory over Rancho Bernardo (Calif.) in their opener. La Costa Canyon takes on Westview (Calif.) this week before a big showdown with Cathedral Catholic (Calif.).

5. Bellevue (Wash.), 1-0 The Wolverines knocked off in-state foe Bainbridge Island (Wash.), 10-4 to open the season. Hank Bethke (Ohio State) had four goals and two assists. Bellevue faces its first road test this week against Woodinville (Wash.).

6. Cherry Creek (Colo.), 3-0 The Bruins are in solid early form, beating Rock Canyon (Colo.) and Overland (Colo.) to open the season, and handing Wheat Ridge (Colo.) a loss on Monday.

7. St. Margaret’s Episcopal (Calif.), 2-0 The Tartans opened the season with a 7-3 victory over Yorba Linda (Calif.) and beat St. John’s (Texas) 17-4.

8. Cathedral Catholic (Calif.), 2-1 The Dons bounced back from a heart-breaking 7-6 overtime loss to No. 1 Torrey Pines with a 13-7 victory over Poway (Calif.) and a 12-9 win over Palos Verdes (Calif.). Cathedral Catholic plays Rancho Bernardo (Calif.) on Tuesday.

9. Corona del Mar (Calif.), 2-0 The Sea Kings blew past University Irvine (Calif.) 19-0 in the season opener and beat St. John’s (Texas) 14-6. They play Fort Collins (Colo.) Unified on Wednesday.

10. The Bishop’s School (Calif.), 0-0 The Knights open the season with a tough test against J Serra Catholic (Calif.). Bishops has the depth and talent to make a deep playoff run this season.

Nike US Lacrosse West Region High School Lacrosse Top 10

1. Amador Valley (Calif.), 1-0 The Dons hosted Coppell (Texas) and ran away with a 20-1 victory. Amador Valley plays three-straight home games, including a showdown against Kent Denver (Colo.) on March 26, before embarking on a five-game road trip.

2. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 1-0 The Falcons knocked off Carlsbad (Calif.) 12-9 in their season-opener. Torrey Pines has two tough games this week against Canyon Crest Academy (which knocked off La Costa Canyon last week) and Cathedral Catholic (Calif.), before hosting Cherry Creek (Colo.) for a solid, regional matchup.

3. Cherry Creek (Colo.) 2-0 The Bruins are off to another dominant start with three victories over Overland (Colo.), Grandview (Colo.) and Cheyenne Mountain (Colo.). Colby Goettelman had five goals and an assist against Cheyenne Mountain. Cherry Creek has a tough league matchup looming this week against Centaurus, which opened its season with two victories.

4. San Ramon Valley (Calif.) The Wolves reeled off four consecutive victories, including an 8-7 win over former No. 2 Carondelet (Calif.). The schedule does not get easier for San Ramon Valley with a big game against top-ranked Amador Valley on March 28.

5. Centaurus (Colo.), 2-0 The Warriors jumped out to a quick start with season-opening victories over Heritage-Littleton (Colo.) and Ralston Valley (Colo.). Centaurus has two tough tests this week against Chaparral (Colo.) and Cherry Creek.

6. Los Alamitos (Calif.), 4-0 The Griffins bolted out of the gate, reeling off four-straight victories over Temecula Valley (Calif.), Aliso Niguel (Calif.), Coronado (Calif.) and Scripps Ranch (Calif.). Los Alamitos gets tested when it travels to Texas this week to take on state power St. John’s, which is off to a 3-1 start.

7. Carondelet (Calif.), 2-1 After opening the season with victories over Marin Catholic (Calif.) and Acalanes (Calif.), the Cougars fell to San Ramon Valley 8-7. Carondelet travels to Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.) before hosting Kent Denver (Colo.) for a solid regional matchup.

8. Air Academy (Colo.), 1-0 The Kadets opened the season with a hard-fought 9-6 victory over Kent Denver. Air Academy has another test this week against Arapahoe (Colo.), which was dominant against Eaglecrest (Colo.) in its season opener.

9. California High School (Calif.) 2-0 The Grizzlies dropped Campolindo (Calif.) and Foothill (Calif.), Pleasanton (Calif.) to open the season. California hosts Dublin (Calif.) and travels to St. Francis (Calif.) before a showdown with undefeated Menlo School (Calif.) on March 21.

10. Menlo School (Calif.), 4-0 The Knights opened the season with victories over Mercy (Calif.), Burlingame (Calif.), Cardinal Newman (Calif.), Gunn-Palo Alto (Calif.) and Monte Vista-Danville (Calif.). Freshman Sophia Donovan finished with three goals and an assist, along with five draw controls in a 12-5 victory over Gunn. Those victories should provide Menlo with some momentum heading into a huge game against No. 1 Amador Valley.

A pair of teams from the west region make their debuts this week in the Nike/US Lacrosse Top 25 poll, as California's Torrey Pines and St. Ignatius Prep came in knotted for the 24th spot in this week's rankings, while at the other end, Boys' Latin (Md.) continued its reign at the top with eight of nine first-place votes.  McDonogh (Md.) jumps from fifth a week ago to No. 2 after a 3-0 start, with Indiana's Culver Academy (2-0) slipping to third by a few votes. Georgetown Prep (Md.) stays at No. 3 with a 3-0 mark so far, while Malvern Prep (Pa.) moves up two spots to round out the Top 5.
