ProjectSpark was established in 2009 by former Princeton lacrosse player (’95 – ’98) Christian Cook and his sister, Lauren. The “spark” was provided by their mother, Diane, who was diagnosed with early Parkinson’s in August 2008. Since that time, Diane has read over 50 books on the disease, been certified as a National Patient Advocate for the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, and established a support group network for other individuals recently diagnosed with this debilitating disease. Diane’s proactive and courageous approach to fighting this disease, and desire to help others struggling with their diagnoses, serve as an inspiration to entire Cook family.
